Our client, a US UCO collecting and biodiesel producing company, required a methanol recovery upgrade.

Concept and preliminary process design for a smaller scale, simplified, manual operation biodiesel plant. Nonetheless we were able to retain the low op-ex advantages of our technology.

This design is tailored for small capacity players (<2.5MGPY) with limited access to cap-ex, but with abundant labor resources – as is the case in many emerging markets.

Now relaunched with a focus on biodiesel technology, we have been consulting for the US biodiesel industry. These projects included site visits, technical evaluations, concepts, studies and reports.

We were contracted for the delivery of a process design / basic engineering package and teamed up with SPEC Engineers & Consultants Ltd. This was for a very unique facility in Greater Noida (near Delhi).

The requirement was a 50TPD / 5MGPY conversion of PFAD and acid oils of max. 85% FFA into distilled, ASTM quality biodiesel, fit for export.

We jointly commissioned this one-of-its-kind plant in summer 2011.

It features vertical integration from a degumming & bleaching front end, continuous glycerolysis for economic conversion of such amount of FFAs, our CTER transesterification and processing technology and a fractional distillation into C16 and C18 methyl ester fractions as back end for value addition, chemical intermediates and water clear fuel products. Energea GmbH

2005 saw more sales, this time 2 units for ARF.

These plants were also designed modular, skid mounted and for outdoor installation.

They are each capable of processing tallow @10% FFA while giving >99.6% yield on weight and 40,000tpa / 120TPD / 12MGPY capacity.


In 2006 all three client units (Teesside, Adelaide, Picton) had been completed and commissioned to name plate capacity & features.

Energea GmbH

We signed with our first technology client, BCL from UK for a veritable "mission impossible". A 250,000tpa / 750TPD / 75MGPY capacity, but modular, skid mounted, essentially "detachable" biodiesel facility and glycerol refining unit for Teesside, UK.

Back in 1999, our journey into biodiesel began when aeronautical engineer Kurt C. Holecek met two Austrian inventors of the CTER biodiesel reactor technology and realized the poential of that then disruptive development: Allowing for instant processing even from UCO, very small footprint and very economic & unlimited, modular, fail-safe scale up.


Austria, 2000. Our reactor technology was proven in the field, in live 24/7 production, delivering over 8000 mt / 2.4million gal of DIN standard quality biodiesel from only UCO feed within the span of only 3 months of test run.

Same year we joined hands and found two companies. Energea GmbH to market the technology and deliver biodiesel plants, as well as Biodiesel Raffinerie GmbH to build, own & operate our first, commerial size, fully permitted, UCO-to-BD demonstration plant in Zistersdorf, Austria. Historically, that town had also been the site of the very first oil wells in Austria, back in 1930.

There, we showcased the technology as well as several best practice features like producing all of process energy requirments from liquid biomass only and even feed surplus power back to the grid, for a green premium.


Most of 2001 was spend planning & constructing the Zisterdorf facility.


June 2002 saw the sale of our first truck load of B100 produced
